Check the working time record
A first hire quietly creates a record keeping duty, and the penalty for missing it is not a fine so much as a reversed burden of proof: with no record of your own, the employee's own notes carry the day. This skill names the record your country expects for each employee it can reach, says whether a timesheet document is on file for the period you asked about, and states the period the record is normally kept for. It checks that a record exists and what kind it is. It never reads the hours inside one.

Which forms does this cover?
United States: FLSA time records, the exempt classification and salary basis record, and the New York paid sick leave accrual record. Germany: Arbeitszeitnachweis and the Urlaubskonto holiday account. Belgium: the registre des dérogations for part time work, the suivi des horaires flottants for floating hours, and the règlement de travail. Italy: Libro Unico del Lavoro and the registro presenze with its overtime entries. Spain: the registro diario de jornada and the calendario laboral. France: the décompte du temps de travail, the suivi forfait jours, the conservation des documents de paie rules, and the registre des traitements RGPD for payroll. Well reads only one of these from a document you hold: a timesheet you dropped in, and then only that it exists and which period it covers. Every other one is named so you know what is due and who keeps it. None of them is generated by Well, and none of them is filed by Well.
Does Well file any of these for me?
No. Well never files, submits or lodges a record with a labour inspectorate, a tax authority or a social security body. It names the record, says whether a document is on file, and states the retention period. You or your payroll professional keep it and hand it over if it is ever asked for.
Can it check whether my employee's hours are right?
No. A timesheet is stored as a document with a written summary, so the total hours and the per day entries are not readable fields, and there is no time entry, shift, attendance or absence record in Well. The skill can say a timesheet for March is on file. It cannot say what March said.
Does this tell me whether I am compliant?
No. The country rules are reference prose carried in the skill, not a rule engine, so the answer names the record and points you at your payroll professional for the ruling. It never declares a company compliant and never gives legal advice.
Will it tell me if an employee is misclassified as exempt?
No. The exempt or non exempt status is reported exactly as it was synced onto the contract salary. Well does not decide whether a hire is classified correctly, and it does not check a salary against a federal, state or city threshold.
Why is one of my employees missing from the answer?
Because Well could not reach them. Employment contracts are read from a payslip or from a contract document you uploaded, so a hire whose first payslip has not landed and whose contract was never uploaded is not in the list. The answer names that gap rather than presenting a shorter team.
Does it track holiday or sick leave balances?
No. A holiday account and a paid sick leave accrual record are named as records to keep. Neither balance is computed, and neither is a forfait jours day count.
Can Well create the working time record for me?
No. Well can hold a timesheet you drop in and tell you when one is missing. It does not generate a working time register on your behalf.
