Accounting settings
The fiscal year start is the one that matters most, because every period a skill derives is measured from it. The skill shows the current value where it can read one, confirms the new one with you, and writes only that.
This skill writes data rather than only reporting on it. It shows you what it will do, and changes nothing until you confirm.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the fiscal year start matter?
Every period-scoped answer is derived from it. If your year starts in April, a January-based calendar puts your months in the wrong periods.
Can I change it mid-close?
No. The change is refused while a period is locked or a close is running, because it would move the ground under an open close.
What happens to existing entries?
Changing the fiscal year start discards draft journal entries that can be regenerated. The skill tells you before it writes.
